I recently overhauled a E-185-11 and installed and timed the Magnetos to the recommended 26 degrees, It would not start, I then retimed it to 28 degrees and it would run but not produce power over 1500 RPM. Any sugestions? Electric Prop.

Sounds like a internal timing error in engine or mags themselves. I would re verify everything starting with the mags internal with relation to the points.
