My G35 has a MP/FF guage that was installed at some point in the last 50 years. After installing a rebuilt fuel pump and having the guage rebuilt; the Manifold Pressure portion operates normally. However; the Fuel Flow portion has turned into a fuel pressure guage. Upon start up the guage indicates 20 -22 PPH. It dosen't change at all until shut down. The electric pump indicates as it always has in the past. I'm being told that you can't have a fuel flow indicator on a carburated (E225) engine. Any input would be appreciated. |

The carbureted E-series engines in stock form did not have a fuel flow meter. Standard instrumentation was a fuel pressure gauge. A company called EI Electronics International offers a kit FP-5 with a transducer and gauge to meter fuel flow on the E-series carbureted engines. There is no way I know of to make the instrument you have installed work as a fuel flow, sounds like it was a instrument that came out of a later model plane that had fuel injection. |
