Horsepower is the biggest difference
IO-470-J is 225hp
IO-470-N is 260hp
The "J" wasn't used in a V-tail Bonanza, but the "N" was used in the 1961 thru 1963 N35 & P35 Bonanza's and G33 Debonairs.
The "J" was used in the 33 abd A33 Debonairs.
The IO-470-J or K (both 225hp) are good engines, they have a lower compression the the IO-470-N and thus can run on the 80/87 octane fuel, the "N" requires 100LL.
I used to fly with a buddy that had a IO-470-K (225hp) in a 1955 F35 Bonanza and recall good performance from that plane. It was a bit faster than my B35 with the E-185-11 engine.
Check the TCDS for specific details.
