I don't disagree with your comments but will add that fuel pump failures are due to owner neglect. They are not faulty or unreliable devices. My Thompson 1900 has been in continuous use ...

Yes. E80 Starter. Your question begs the question: Does the 36E14 Starter call for a different starter relay? Sounds like you know something I haven't considered.
