PostForum: Maintenance Items   Posted: Sat Feb 20, 2010 4:19 pm   Subject: RE: retractable step
This is a very common problem with the older Bonanza. The retractable step is connected to the nose gear by a small cable. The cable on each end has a shear link that is supposed to break and not bind ...

Would also make sure everything on the carburetor is working, there is a power valve that sometimes sticks, and I used to have to clean and use some lubricant on that too. I think you will find that o ...

If you have the original style AH, then it's larger than the more modern day AH. It is vacuum driven and so as long as what you are replacing it with, is the same hole size and vacuum, then no worries ...

Do you have the solid state prop governor? During take off, have you toggled the prop to hi RPM setting and not let the switch go to AUTO mode? It just seems a big jump or difference in RPM. Do yo ...

It's a good question to ask on this forum, many Bonanza owners eventually want to transition up or consider owning a twin engine plane. So I'll attempt to address some issues to consider. First, the ...

I would want to know how many hours it's been on there rather than years. It is the pins that fail, and NTSB has a few entries that actually were a result of the fuel pump pin breaking. I would imagin ...

Engine choice:::: I don't think I would get a engine with a known prop strike and run it, it's a personal choice gamble. Overhauls are going for over $20K and not many very qualified that will still ...

I might also add, that in the shop manual for the early Bonanza, there is a page or two that describes the allowable engine swaps as well. A log book entry might reference this data. I also want to m ...

For the 1950 Bonnanza, it came with a E-185-8 rated at 196hp take-off, over the next few years, Beechcraft (or Continental engines) started installing the E-185-11 (205hp on take-off), for the 1951 or ...

Sounds like a internal timing error in engine or mags themselves. I would re verify everything starting with the mags internal with relation to the points.

And you have verified that ground adjustments for RPM stop limi ...
