Beech Exhaust System

It's important to pay close attention to the exhaust system on any airplane. The Beech exhaust system is no exception. There are really no problems to worry about other than poor maintenance routines or no exhaust maintenance over the lifespan of the Bonanza.  It's hard to say how long a exhaust system should last. It depends on many factors. Items to look for are cracks, loose or missing bolts, nuts, brackets etc. Be proactive, look for leaks. I like to use the "spiral wrap" exhaust  to cylinder head gaskets. I'm not too fond of the thin brass (or whatever) type gaskets. I like to use as much stainless replacement screws, nuts, cotter pins, springs, washers and bolts as possible.
