Serial numbers D-1 through D-1500. Manufactured during 1947 and up until late Fall 1948. The E-185-1 engine is rated at 165 hp continuous @ 2050 rpm and produces 185hp @ 2300 rpm for take-off (1min). The model 35 gross weight is 2550 lbs. and in the utility class (for limited acrobatics) the gross weight is 2100 lbs. On all later Bonanzas, the normal and utility gross weights are the same. The model 35 nose wheel is non-steerable and the baggage capacity is limited to 120 lbs. It should be noted that on serial number D-1117 and after the battery is behind the firewall rather than in the engine compartment and on serial number D-1455 and after a slightly modified fuel selector hand pump is used. It should also be noted that a few of the very early models had fabric covered flaps and ailerons. |
